IOE admission has two distinct stages: the central B.E./B.Arch. entrance examination and the later priority/admission process run through campuses or the current central admission system. Always follow the latest official notice.

- Read the current official B.E./B.Arch. entrance notice and eligibility requirements.
- Complete the online entrance application within the published dates and retain the confirmation.
- Download or verify the admit card, exam centre, date and shift.
- Take the computer-based entrance examination and check the official result/rank.
- Submit campus and program priorities through the current official admission channel.
- Check each admission list and complete document verification and payment before its deadline.
Documents commonly required
The exact checklist can change, so the campus notice controls. Prepare clear originals and copies early rather than relying on an unofficial list.
- Entrance admit card and result/rank evidence
- Academic transcripts, certificates and character certificate
- Citizenship or accepted identity documents
- Recent photographs and application confirmations
- Quota/category evidence when applying under a reserved category
- Payment receipt and any campus-specific forms
How seat allocation and cutoff ranks work
A cutoff is the last rank admitted to a specific program, fee category, campus and list. It changes with applicant priorities, seat counts, quotas and withdrawals. First-list open cutoffs are useful for comparison but are not a promise of final admission.
Use historical cutoffs to build realistic priority groups: ambitious choices, competitive choices and safer alternatives. Never skip a desired priority only because an estimate labels it difficult.
Fees, dates and notices change every year
Do not copy registration dates, payment amounts or bank details from an old article. Verify every time-sensitive value on the official IOE notice and the relevant campus/admission portal before paying or submitting documents.
