Transparent methodology

How this IOE rank predictor works

01

Marks become an estimated rank

Your score is placed inside the matching source benchmark, then linearly interpolated between that band’s rank boundaries. Direct-rank mode skips this step.

02

Rank is compared with cutoffs

Your rank is compared independently with open/general regular and full-fee first-list closing ranks from the numerically latest available year.

03

Fit labels explain proximity

Safe, Highly Likely, Borderline and Tough describe how your rank compares with a historical cutoff. They are not calibrated admission probabilities.

Important: This is an educational estimate based on historical open/general first-list data. Quota seats are excluded. Campus demand, seat counts and later admission lists can change. Always verify final admissions through official IOE notices.
Common questions

Using the IOE college predictor

Does a “Safe” result guarantee admission?

No. It means your rank is comfortably within that historical cutoff according to this tool’s comparison rule. It is not a guarantee.

Which cutoff year is used for current estimates?

The calculator automatically uses the numerically latest source year—currently 2082 BS—rather than relying on array order.

Does N/A mean the cutoff was zero?

No. N/A means that specific regular or full-fee value is unavailable in the source data. Missing campuses or programs are also treated as unavailable, never zero.
